They are Very Attractive for Many species of Butterflies & Hummingbirds. They Will Rebloom in Fall again if they are Cut Back after the First Blooming Period in Spring. You Really couldn't Fine a More Distinctive & Beautiful Flower to Brighten up your Landscape. A Shorter Species of Cornflower, the Mountain Blue will only Grow 1-2 Feet Tall, and is appx. 18" Inches Wide. Native to the meadows and woods of the mountains of Europe, it is drought resistant and because of this, they also do well in containers, where the soil may dry out quickly. It is very easy to grow from seed and an excellent garden plant as well as cut flower. If Kept Inside, with the Right amount of Light, they can Make a Gorgeous Houseplant Anywhere.Zones: 3-8Mountain Blue Germination:1) Fill pots or treys with a commercial seed starting mix, being sure the containers are at least 3 inches deep.2) Moisten the soil, and sow 3 seeds per container. Cover with only 1/2 inch of soil as it is very important that it stays dark with no light.3) Cover the containers with plastic to retain moisture and keep high humidity levels.4) Use a heated propagator mat to be sure that temperatures stay at 70 degrees F, or a few degrees higher.5) Expect germination in 3-4 weeks.
