It is commonly known as Dark Mullein and Black Mullein and is a biennial/perennial growing to 3 feet by 2 feet. It is native in Europe, including Britain, Scandinavia, South, and East to Spain, Siberia, Macedonia, and the Caucasus. It is in flower from June to October, and the seeds ripen from August to October and are pollinated by Flies, Moths, and Butterflies. The plant is self-fertile, cannot grow in the shade, and prefers dry or moist soil. Zones 3-8 Germination Seeds are tiny. Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-70F. Germination is in 21-30 days.
