(1.8-4 m) Hardiness: USDA Zone 9 Sun Exposure: Full Sun - Partial shade, especially when young Bloom Color: White Bloom Time: Summer, Autumn - Blooms repeatedly Foliage: Evergreen Time To Fruit: 2-4 years Extremely rare, both in cultivation and in nature! A shrubby tree growing to 10-12ft. Flowers are born in large clusters, with fruits ripening several weeks later. This is a purple fruiting form. A rare Eugenia of the Southern Brazilian rainforests, bearing a dark-purple ripening fruit with a mildly sweet and firm pulp. Fruits can be eaten out of hand or made into marmalade.
