Ferocactus wislizeni "Fishhook Barrel" Cactus YELLOW SPINES/FLOWERS! 5"-6" Wide
This is a very SPECIAL Ferocactus wislizeni ssp. Flavispinus "Fishhook barrel" cactus listing. These are the much sought after "Yellow Spines/Yellow Flowers" cultivar! This cultivar originally came about through the Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society's Rescue Program. When they were doing cactus rescues, they found a few "yellow spines and yellow flowered" plants. So, seed was collected, and only a few years later, we have Generation 1! I have been a member of the TCCS for 15+ years, and was fortunate enough to get some of the earliest and largest "Generation 1" plants! So now we have plants that are true yellow spines, and yellow flowers! The first four pictures are of a mature plant in my landscaping. I will be offering seed soon! This plant is in a 6" pot, as shown in the pictures, but will be sent bare root. It is approximately 5" to 6" wide, counting the spines. You will receive a plant similar to what is shown. These have a bit of heat stress, from this last summer when we had 112 days of temperatures OVER 100F! They will recover soon! Very limited quantities on these! Snooze and you lose! This is a GREENHOUSE GROWN plant, of course! All plants are sent bare root, unless noted. If you need heat packs, we have them in our store, just add them to your order.
