Cistus creticus is a shrub in the Cistaceae family. Some common names are pink rock-rose, hoary rock-rose, Rock Rose, and Cretan rockrose. A native to Europe in the Mediterranean region. The pink flowers are in bloom from late spring to mid-summer and will attract bees, butterflies, and birds. It grows in most soils and must have good drainage as it likes to be a bit dry. It grows best in full sun for maximum blooms but will still bloom in part shade. The flowers range in color from light pink to dark pink or mauve with the smell of roses and sandalwood.  Zones 8-11 Germination Mix seeds and moistened soil together in a ziplock bag. Write the name on the bag. Place in the refrigerator for 60 days. Soak seeds for 12 hours. Sow seeds into a well-drained, sandy compost and cover seeds to their own depth with sand or grit. Place the seed tray in bright light with a heat mat. Seeds may germinate slowly.
