Water Inlet is a 1.0" Female thread (FNPT) and a 1" barbed adapter is included.Box only needs to be cleaned about once per year under normal usage (if heavy fish load, will need more frequent cleanings).The Pond & Waterfall Box Filter with 11" wide spillway may be used in your pond as a waterfall box or as a biological filter with a waterfall. The spillway is designed to be extra wide for more aeration in the water.
