When you touch the leaves, they will fold up right in front of your eyes. It also closes up at night then reopens during the day. It has gained some awards for this unique act by the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. New plants will grow erect, but once older, they will trail and act as a groundcover. It can grow to 36" high and wide. It prefers to grow in full sun with well-drained soil. Most people grow this in a greenhouse for a conversation piece.
