Grows Naturally All Over the Islands of Hawaii and Puerto Rico. This is a Very Large, Tropical Tree that Needs a Frost-Free Environment. Unless you have a 50-Foot Tall Greenhouse to Grow in, you are Restricted to Hawaii, San Diego, and Southern California, Texas or Florida. Zones 9b-11Koa Germination:1) Roughly sand the hard shells.2) Bring water to a simmer, (Not a boil), and pour into a container placing the seeds in. 3) Allow the seeds to cool with the water, and soak for 24 to 36 hrs. Change water daily.4) Use a heated propagator to keep soil temperature at appx 77 F.
