201+FALSE ASTER Seeds Perennial Native Wildflower Poor Soils Summer Fall Garden
FALSE ASTER. This is a long lived American native wildflower. The plant height is variable from 3-5' and they get 2'-3' wide. They can be found along roadsides, edges of woods, marshes, lake shores and riversides. This is a tough as nails plant that will grow in gravel / sand / marsh / poor or regular garden soils without any problem but prefer moist alkaline conditions. Also, can be used in a bog or water garden as they tolerate flooding at the roots. Blooms are 1"across, white, and daisy like. Flowers in late summer through fall. Very attractive to late summer/fall butterflies and Bee's.200+ seeds per order. Some American Native Wildflower seeds need to go through a cold winter to germinate. This plant is one of them. They do this so the seed won’t sprout in fall, only to have the seedling not make it through a cold winter. I have stratified these seeds to simulate a cold winter(stratification) This raises the germination rate considerably. Thanks for looking!!Boltonia asteroides Perennial. Full sun/Part sun. Spring, soil temp 65F+. SOW- 4 seeds per, 1/16"deep, 24"apart. Keep moist. Germination 14-21 Days. Thin to single best seedling. Use scissors to cut out unwanted sprouts. Height 3'-5' x 2'-3' wide.
