Great alternative to sphagnum moss. Holds less moisture and rewets much easier. Coconut fiber is long lasting, provides excellent drainage, strong somewhat wiry texture. Comes from renewable source. Coconut husk fiber can be mixed with other orchid mediums or potting soils such as orchid bark and sponge rock. Many growers have come up with their own combinations. The possibilities are many.
