It is very similar to Fuchsia arborescens, except the paniculata species is more resistant to gall mite. Most Fuchsias require a frost-free environment. It grows best in wooded areas with shade protected from winds. Prune after blooms to maintain the shape you desire. It will attract hummingbirds, birds, butterflies, and bees. It can reach heights of around 10-15 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide. It has glossy green leaves with red veins and stems. The flowers are pink-lavender in clusters. The berries are blue-black and are eaten by birds. It prefers to grow in partial shade to light shade with average water needs. Zones 9-11 Germination Sow seeds 1/8" deep and lightly cover.
