It can easily grow in water 1 to 5 inches above the roots in an 8 inch or wider container with heavy loam soil. This cattail will grow to 12” to 24" tall and have very narrow, grass-like green foliage with a small dark brown color flower spikes appearing late summer. Blooms from late June to august. A good grower that will spread quickly, hardy zones 3 - 12.
