Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The climate of our region of South Texas is dry, sub-tropical desert with extremely brutal summers, with temperatures in the shade reaching 112 degrees and higher. This is due to the fact that we are situated on the eastern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert. Our winters are generally mild and pleasant, but temperatures can sometimes get down to freezing or below for brief periods. Only the hardiest and most adapted strains of Moringa oleifera do best here. We have been growing Moringa oleifera here for over 35 years. During this time we evaluated many strains of M. oleifera to determine which varieties were most adapted to our harsh growing conditions. In the course of doing so we ended up with two distinct varieties, the STX-1, and the STX-2. Both varieties are organically-grown right here in the USA. STX-1 is an indigenous landrace non-GMO strain which is quite cold-hardy, heat and drought tolerant, fast-growing, and very productive. STX-1 concentrates most of its energy into leaf production, and less on flowering and pod production. Flowering can take up to two or more years to begin. STX-2 is an improved non-GMO landrace variety developed through pure line selection from the PKM-1 strain. This variety is a little less cold-hardy than STX-1, but just as heat and drought tolerant. STX-2 is extremely fast-growing, highly productive, and can begin to flower in less than 90 days from planting, and at less than three feet tall. It is a strong producer of leaves and a heavy producer of very large pods of 24-30 inches in length. Pod production on STX-2 can be so heavy that the branches and pods will literally be dragging on the ground from the weight. We feel that the STX-2 rivals or exceeds the qualities and productivity of the PKM-1. For now we are only offering a limited amount of USA-grown STX-2 seed. Please note that this offer is for 25 individual seeds and not entire, whole pods. IMPORTANT: We are the ONLY certified producers of STX-2 and the sole source of the pure strain, which we developed. Others claim to be selling STX-2, but buyer beware, unless the seed is produced and certified by us, you are being mislead by those sellers! Always check with us before purchasing STX-2 from other vendors. This Special Deal listing is for 25 STX-2 Moringa oleifera seeds. Each order comes with complete growing instructions. Note: Wet or Cold soil will rot the seeds and prevent germination. Also Do Not Pre-Soak the seeds, as this will also drown the seeds and prevent germination! If Moringa STX-2 seeds are planted in cool/cold and wet soil, they can be subject to rot and then will not sprout. They require very warm/hot temperatures, lightly damp soil, and bright sunlight to properly germinate. Be sure to check out our other items on ebay!
